“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thine soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. (Deuteronomy 6:4-7). This is the goal for the new school as we strive to teach the children, and pray the children will impart this to their parents.

The state of Michoacan has informed the school board that an application has to be submitted after the first of Nov. in order to receive consideration for accreditation. Thus the school will not officially open until fall of 2009. However with Ruth Cervantes and Regg Beer being here, classes will begin in late August or early Sept. for English. The building is complete except for furniture, equipment, and computers. Bro. Regg came to Ixtlan from the Milford congregation. Please continue to pray for a Mexican Certified primary teacher for the school.

Spanish Bible studies continue in Barra Vieja each month for the believers. Those visiting and teaching the last three months were: Bro. Todd and Sister Pauli Schambach, Bro. Ray and Sister Gladys Slagel, and Sis. Nicole Knobloch, Bros. Spencer Lewis and Grant Herrman.

June 22nd there were two baptisms. Marcela Salceda, and Lupita Sibaja were added to the Ixtlan fold. Elder Bro. Mike Leman carried out these duties as well as serving communion in the evening.
The believers in Morelia were also present for the baptisms and for the communion service. It was a very inspiring time and there was a strong feeling of unity among the brethren.

A prayer item would be that there is a need for a business locating in the Ixtlan area that could employ a number of people. A fabrication or assembly type of business would be ideal as there are many people looking for work. The situation has become more urgent as the economy down turns in the U.S. Many young men are returning to Mexico and are in need of work.

Sorry for the repeat of the foto.

Yours in Christ,
